Taylor Swift

 Taylor Alison Swift, born 13 December 1989 is an American musician and singer. Her discography includes many genres. The songs she writes, which are frequently influenced by her personal experiences, has received high praise from critics as well as extensive media coverage. Swift was raised in West Reading, Pennsylvania. She relocated to Nashville in Tennessee at the age of 14 to become a singer-songwriter. Swift signed a songwriting and recording agreement with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The self-titled debut album she released in 2006 made her the first female country singer to write a U.S. platinum-certified album. Swift's subsequent albums Fearless (2008) & Speak Now (2010) explored the genre of country music. The tracks "Love Story" and "You Belong to Me" from the former were the first songs to have topped the U.S. all-genre and pop charts. Red (2012) included her first Billboard Hot 100 song number one, "We Are Never Ever Going back Together". The singer shunned her image as a country singer and dropped 1989 (2014) which was an album of synth-pop that featured the chart-topping tracks "Shake It off", "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood". The skepticism of the media inspired her album Reputation (2017) as well as its number-one single "Look What You Made Me Do".

 Swift quit Big Machine in 2018, and signed in 2018 with Republic Records. In 2019, Swift released Lover (2019), followed closely by Miss Americana (2020), a documentary about her life. Swift delved into indie folk and alternative rock with her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore which featured two singles "Cardigan" and "Willow" topped the Hot 100. Swift began rerecording her first six albums in response to a dispute regarding their masters. She launched two albums in 2021: Fearless (Taylor’s Edition) and Red. "All Too Well (10 Min Version)" from the latter album was the longest song to make it onto the Hot 100. Records for streaming all time were broken by Swift's 2022 album Midnights, and the single "Anti-Hero". Swift has also directed music videos, films, and even played supporting roles in various films. Swift is one of history's most-selling artists, having sold more than 200 million records across the globe. Swift is the highest-rated female on Spotify and is the only artist with five albums with more than one million copies sold within the US. She has won 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year awards and the Emmy Award. There have also been 39 American Music Awards; 29 Billboard Music Awards and 92 Guinness World Records. Swift has been featured in such rankings as Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time; Billboard’s Greatest of All Time Artists; Forbes Celebrity 100; and Billboard's 100 Greatest of All Time Artists. Honored with titles such as Artist of the Decade and Woman of the Decade, Swift is an advocate for artists' rights as well as women's empowerment. Swift's music has been the reason she has inspired a generation in the field of singer-songwriters.
