Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakthrough came with her performance as Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance in Fearless (1993) brought her nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in addition to other awards. Perez has been in numerous films since her time in the film and has appeared in films such as It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado ((2000), Pineapple Express (2008) and Birds of Prey (2021). She was nominated for three Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another for her role as The Flight Attendant (2020-2021). She has appeared in Broadway stage plays such as The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted the 18th season of ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. By 1999, her mother was living in poverty at the Woodside Houses, when she died from complications of AIDS.
